Your Keto/Carnivore Story
Little over a year ago, I was on the verge of becoming diabetic. Fasting A1C was 6.8. I was 285 pounds and on high blood pressure meds.
My doctor wanted to start me on diabetes meds. I told him I didn’t want to be on meds or diabetic. I was going through some things and quit exercising and eating keto. I made a deal with Doc. He gave me 3 months to get my act together Then he wanted to retest.
His exact words were, “You have 90 days. If your results come back the same or worse, then your ass is on meds”.
My doctor is my age and talks to me like a regular person. A couple of days later, I’m talking to a guy at the gym who tells me how the carnivore lifestyle saved his life. He tells me that a year prior, he weighed over 300. He was type 2 diabetic and had neuropathy in his legs.
His doctor told him he was going to die if he didn’t change. That’s when he discovered the carnivore diet. A year later, he lost 100 pounds and was no longer diabetic. The neuropathy is gone.
I decided to give it a try. What did I have to lose? Fast forward three months later. My blood pressure was starting to become normal; I was down 30 pounds. My A1C was 5.4. Doc actually said, “I don’t know what in the hell your doing, but don’t stop”.
That brings us to today. I weigh 200 pounds. I’m back in the gym for an hour and a half to two hours a day. I feel great. I don’t wake up hurting anymore. I sleep through the night. Sleep apnea is gone. My doctor is amazed. With my permission, he tells other patients about me and my journey.
